Alan Price’s World Tour reaches Sussex
Just catching up on some Geordie-related detail after a really busy couple of months.
Saw Alan Price with Zoot Money and Chris Farlowe at Worthing’s Connaught Hall on 31 October after a few days spent with my family in Newcastle upon Tyne earlier that half term week. A much needed Geordie overdose.
Alan Price was fantastic - a great voice, looking cool, a great sense of age-related humour and I can see why they compare him alongside Randy Newman.
A wonderful rendition of ‘I put a Spell on You’ – and a moving romantic song that is modern, I don’t know but want to buy and which led into another song…
When I have the time I want to find out what happened to his ‘musical’ of a ship launch from Jarrow – I heard this music many years ago but can’t remember where and I haven’t heard or seen about it since.
I mentioned World Tour because this was Alan’s little joke, referring to his World Tour and main UK cities including Worthing (on a Friday night…).
It was a full house, we were rocking in the aisles and it was a real treat. Thank you Alan.
